ex-boyfriend letter write anonymous letter

Dear whoever.

I’d just like to say something.
I know I’m awkward, okay?
I know that I randomly talk to people, and do silly things like talk to my coffee about how many shots of caffeine I am about to have, I know I wave at people to be friendly, plan random plans to make someones mornings, name random objects, ninja kick doors open, sticky note doors and walls just because, trip all the time, laugh too loud, and make strange noises for no apparent reason.
But I’m okay with that. I think it makes me unique, and quirky, and adds color to peoples lives. It’s fun, and after a point, I feel like as my friends you need to accept this.
So yes, I’m awkward. I’m different. I’m unique. I’m myself.

Stop pointing it out though, like it’s a horrible thing, like something is wrong with who I am.

I thought we did the whole judgmental thing in high school. It’s college, and I don’t really feel like feeling self conscious about who I am all the time.

Also, just because I like chick flicks, and think stupid comedies are funny, and that I have no interest in video games and action movies, doesn’t mean something is wrong with me. Just because I don’t really like heavy metal music and rock out to country music, doesn’t mean something is wrong with me. It just means I’m different then you, so making fun of me about these things is really not necessary. I don’t want to have to feel defensive about what I like, and what I don’t like. I accept you don’t like what I like, so just accept me.

You’re my friend. Accept me for who I am and stop making fun of me for it.

Okay thanks.

Sincerely,
The awkward one who knows she’s awkward but thinks its a positive thing.

You sound like a fun and adaptable person who stays positive and knows what you like, not awkward.

Hey, thanks everyone who commented :)

Basically I’ve just been ignoring it, but when she says I’m being awkward I just tell her it’s because I’m awesome.

I don’t think it’s as amusing to her if I don’t take offense. And she seems to have cut it out now.
